Stocktin's Influence

Our inspiration-Stocktin (aka Stockie) is a black Labrador Retriever who is 10+ years young.  Found on the streets as a puppy, rummaging through trash and eating from tin cans, he bonded to a fellow nomad - Dad, and their life of travels around the United States began. Stocktin was trained to be Dad's service dog, and survived his own medical emergencies such as a venomous snake bite and tick fever. They train-hopped, played music, and met many friends, canine and human alike, who helped them along the way.

Founders Kym and Jess - Arizona natives turned proud Coloradoans fell in love with their local community, but they were disheartened by the amount of people they saw experiencing homelessness along side their furry companions, and they felt compelled to help.  Stocktin's influence: In 2024, Jess met Stocktin and his owner, forming a special bond that ultimately contributed to the formation of SMSD. The founder's hearts ached for Stocktin come winter, fearing he did not have a coat to stay warm; so they set out to purchase him one, which led to the donation that blossomed into SMSD. New and gently used care essentials and food could be collected and distributed to help street dogs, and in turn, helping their owners focus on their personal needs.

It all started with a dog who needed a coat! We are grateful for any blessings we can provide with the help of donors and volunteers.

In February 2025, Jess happily agreed to adopt Stockin, so as to provide him the care he needs in his senior years, allowing Dad to focus on his personal wellness and journey. Check us out on our Instagram @stocksmarketforstreetdogs to keep up with Jess and Stockie!
